Well Alight.......! I wanna live fast 'cos my life's so slow I wanna go out every night but there's nowhere to go Live life to the full taste every excess I wanna get heavily into kinky sex I'm bored with life 'cos I know I wasn't cut out for this Mr. Average role Life's closing in makes me scream & shout I guess there's only one way out I'm gonna sell my soul sell it to the devil Gonna sell my soul, sell it now! Gonna sell my soul, sell it to the devil Gonna sell my soul for everlasting glory Crazy woman tell me what to do High on power I can feel it too Say I'm mad haha! just insane C'mon tell me that again & again I wanna see my name in the history books A Rock'n'Roll star who knew how to fuck The time is right it's now or never I wanna wanna wanna wanna live forever Repeat Chorus x2 Time brings people - say they're friends But I can't follow their fickle trends I don't wanna have to compromise Or put up with their lies The cut digs deep & I start to fall But I'll return with my battle call See me rise from the flames of hell You can't beat me 'cos I'm willing to sell Repeat Chorus x2

about

Taken from our first studio session at Sheffield's Darnall Music Factory in 1990 this track was later used on the (now unavailable) first demo cassette. Now restored & remastered and released as a single for the first time, it makes a rip-roaring statement that seems more relevant than ever. Despite being one of the first songs written (in 1988 before the band was even formed) - ostensibly about living in Thatcherite Britain. More recently this track also seemed to encapsulate a lot of peoples' anger & frustration of living with Covid lockdown.

Identifying with the lyrics and passion of this track shows that we all feel like this from time to time, but - be warned - dark forces are always ready to take advantage of our misfortunes!
